Author Interview Fiasco #7

Today's awesome author is Gracen Miller!!!!

Welcome Gracen!!!!  Awesome to have you here!!!  Inquiring minds want to know, so I’m here to ask the questions. LOL

Gracen: Thanks for having me!

1.  As a child, who was your favorite superhero and why?

Gracen: Wonder Woman! She was sexy, wore an awesome costume, had a cape, the lasso of truth, an invisible airplane, super cool wrist bands that blocked bullets and she kicked ass! Loved her! My grandmother would fashion tin-foil wristbands on my wrists and drape a towel over my shoulders—she’d use one of those wooden clothes pins to hold it in place—and I’d run around her backyard for hours pretending to be Wonder Woman. We didn’t have costumes like kids do nowadays, so we had to use our imagination. I’m glad we did because I have some fond memories of those times and I love my grandmother all the more for her efforts!

2.  If you were going to take over the world, how would you do it?

Gracen: With the King of Hell, of course! *winks* I’ve kind of got him in my pocket. *laughs* I’d sic my Hellhounds on those in power and world domination would be as easy-peasy as *snaps fingers* that. Check out my Road to Hell Series to understand how I know the King of Hell.

3.  Other than writing, what is your favorite thing to do?

Gracen: Spending time with my family or reading are my first go-to pastimes. Another fav is watching horror movies with my eldest son.

4.  Top 5 favorite bands/songs?

Gracen:
Desperado by The Eagles
Renegade by Styx
I Almost Told You That I Loved You by Papa Roach
Forever by Papa Roach
Close Your Eyes by Leta Ford and Ozzy Osbourne

5.  Top 5 favorite TV shows?

Gracen:
Supernatural
Vampire Diaries
Son’s of Anarchy
The Walking Dead
NCIS

(Umm mine almost exactly. ;)  Great minds think alike!!!)

6.  If you could make one statement the entire planet would hear and remember, what would it be?

Gracen: Wow! What a tough question. But I think I’d go with this dorky statement: “All of your life should be written from the soul.” I have a dark fairy tattooed on my back and the tombstone she’s sitting on says “Written from the soul”. I should explain why…This is my motto about my life and my writing. I try to live every day as if it is my last—no regrets. Unfortunately, I don’t always succeed with the no regrets part. And everything I write comes from my soul—not sure that says anything good about me. LOL Part of that is not selling out my story line just to make someone comfortable. Kind of a dark and morbid motto, but it fits me.

7.  Social issue nearest and dearest to your heart?

Gracen: Abuse of any kind…mental and physical. They’re both devastating. Bullying, hearing someone put another person down or making fun of another individual, they all set me off. Normally, it takes a lot to make me angry, but this is the hair-trigger that infuriates me in a heartbeat.

8.  In your opinion, what characteristics do the best bad guys have in common?

Gracen: Sexy…and sexy isn’t necessarily looks, but include personality and character. Most bad boys are closet romantics. The bad guys are rarely aware of this. *winks* And they are often misunderstood. They’re tormented by something from their past—aren’t we all? They’re always alphas, but in private can be softies with the woman they love.

9.  What is most likely to put you in a creative mood?

Gracen: I’m always in the mood to write, it just depends on if my Muse—Dom—is willing to play with me. He’s a tad temperamental and an insane task-master when he’s eager to write. We have an ongoing love/hate relationship.

10.  Is there anything you’d like to tell us about your books?

Gracen: They’re a helluva ride. *cheeky grin* I don’t write the typical sweet, romantic book. I like terrorizing my characters and putting them through hell. I want to keep readers on the edge of their seat, holding their breath, growing more fearful for the characters with each word. I enjoy pushing the envelope, in genre and in sex scenes. If someone tells me I can’t write it, then by golly, I’m going to show them that I will and it’ll succeed! I was told my Road to Hell Series wouldn’t appeal to a large audience because of the graphic violent scenes I included. Labeling myself as a horromance author (romance mixed with horror), the horror elements are critical to the story. But…I write straight paranormal erotica, too.

Come read the first three chapters of my book, Pandora’s Box, Book One of the Road to Hell Series: http://madisonroadtohell.blogspot.com/p/pandoras-box-coming-8-19-2011.html
